Introduction to Indonesia

Hello everyone!

If you are reading this, you are probably either a member of my family, friend, or a supporter of my trip to Indonesia!  First of all, I want to say thank you for all of your support!  My trip to Indonesia changed my life in so many ways, and I am so excited for the chance to share all of my experiences with you!  First some background:

I have always wanted to travel.  Regardless of where it is, I love visiting new places, seeing new sights, and meeting new people.  When I got the chance to go to college, I knew that I wanted to study abroad somewhere, and hopefully as many places as I could.  Upon coming to college, though, I found out that my major was so intensive that it was nearly impossible to study abroad.  I was fairly upset about this realization, but I continued to look into any study abroad programs I could find.  Whenever I found out about this trip to Indonesia, it almost seemed too good to be true!  We were studying a course that I already had to take, I knew a couple of people who were going on the trip, and I was going to a place where my girlfriend had some family connections already.  It seemed too perfect.

As I continued to look into this trip, I realized it would be quite a pricey adventure.  I was not sure how I was going to pay for it, so I asked for support from family and friends.  Thank to all of their support, the trip came into my price range, and I signed the papers to go to Indonesia!

The next posts share all about my experiences teaching, living, and serving in Indonesia.  I had the most incredible time, and God worked in so many different ways through our team's time in the beautiful country.  Thank you all for your continued support; I would not have been so willing and so excited to go on a trip like this without so many people to share my experiences with.  Please read on and enjoy the stories and memories that I will always carry with me from Indonesia!
